PETER BUSCH

In the second gallery, Kantor / Feuer will present Leipzig-based artist Peter Busch. Busch's work focuses on marginalized places: the edge of a park, a decaying wall, or an empty fountain. As his paintings reveal very little about specifics, the viewer may wonder if they have seen the place before. Busch mixes all of his paint colors with white, so that blues and greens are neutralized by the overall wash. This technique adds a faded look to the work, compounding the idea that the scenes are all a dream.

Born in 1971 in Sondershausen, Germany, Peter Busch received his education at Hochschule fur Grafik und Buchkunst in Leipzig, Germany. He has been featured in solo exhibitions at Galerie Kleindienst in Leipzig, Germany, LIGA Berlin in Germany, and Galerie Nicolai Wallner in Copenhagen. Busch lives and works in Leipzig, Germany.

The exhibition opens October 5th and will run through November 4th, 2006. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, October 5th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Valet parking will be available during the reception. For more information about the gallery please visit http://www.kantorfeuer.com.
